Make a Difference Every Day

Our client is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Medical Welfare Officer to join a specialist education setting supporting children and young people with complex additional needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a caring nature who is passionate about promoting the health, safety, and wellbeing of pupils while working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.

The Role

  • Provide medical care and day-to-day wellbeing support to pupils.
  • Administer prescribed medication safely and accurately.
  • Liaise with healthcare professionals to ensure medical plans are current and effective.
  • Attend medical reviews and multidisciplinary meetings where required.
  • Maintain the safe storage and administration of medication and medical supplies.
  • Ensure school procedures relating to first aid, seizures, moving and handling, and feeding are followed at all times.
  • Support the Senior Leadership Team in maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for all pupils.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience working with children or young people (experience within SEND is desirable).
  • Good IT and administrative skills.
  • A caring, professional, and proactive approach.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
