We are seeking a dedicated and experienced KS3 SEN Teacher to join a specialist setting supporting autistic pupils with complex needs. The role will begin at the start of March, with a transition day during the week commencing 23rd February to ensure a smooth handover.

You will be teaching a small KS3 class of 10 non-verbal students who are autistic, sensory learners and working below National Curriculum Year 1. Pupils require a highly structured timetable, practical learning approaches, and consistent use of visuals and objects of reference to support communication and engagement.

The Role:

  • Deliver structured, practical and engaging lessons across the core subject areas
  • Use visuals, objects of reference and communication strategies to support learning
  • Plan lessons with a strong practical element to meet sensory and developmental needs
  • Promote communication, independence and personal development
  • Work within a highly structured daily timetable
  • Lead a classroom team of 5 Teaching Assistants
  • Work closely with specialist teachers delivering Drama, Music, Art, Food Technology, DT and PE
  • Follow and contribute to an established curriculum framework with guidance and support
