Remedy Education are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic ASD Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school based in Greenwich. This is a great opportunity for someone who has experience supporting children or young people with autism and additional needs. The school are looking for a calm, reliable and proactive Teaching Assistant who can support pupils with their learning, communication, behaviour and daily school routines.

Role Details

  • Position: ASD Teaching Assistant
  • Location: Greenwich
  • Pay: 95-115 per day
  • Hours: Full-time
  • Start Date: ASAP / September roles available
  • School Type: SEN / Secondary School Setting

The Role

  • Support pupils with autism and a range of additional needs
  • Work 1:1 and with small groups to encourage engagement and progress
  • Help pupils access classroom activities and follow daily routines
  • Support communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
  • Assist teachers with learning resources and differentiated tasks
  • Encourage confidence, independence and positive behaviour
  • Provide a calm and consistent approach throughout the school day
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and wider support staff

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Previous experience supporting pupils with ASD or SEN
  • A patient, caring and resilient approach
  • Confidence supporting pupils with communication and learning needs
  • Good behaviour management and communication skills
  • Experience in a school, care, youth work, mentoring or childcare setting is desirable
  • A positive attitude and willingness to get involved
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
