Remedy Education are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic ASD Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school based in Greenwich. This is a great opportunity for someone who has experience supporting children or young people with autism and additional needs. The school are looking for a calm, reliable and proactive Teaching Assistant who can support pupils with their learning, communication, behaviour and daily school routines.
Role Details
- Position: ASD Teaching Assistant
- Location: Greenwich
- Pay: 95-115 per day
- Hours: Full-time
- Start Date: ASAP / September roles available
- School Type: SEN / Secondary School Setting
The Role
- Support pupils with autism and a range of additional needs
- Work 1:1 and with small groups to encourage engagement and progress
- Help pupils access classroom activities and follow daily routines
- Support communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
- Assist teachers with learning resources and differentiated tasks
- Encourage confidence, independence and positive behaviour
- Provide a calm and consistent approach throughout the school day
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and wider support staff
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience supporting pupils with ASD or SEN
- A patient, caring and resilient approach
- Confidence supporting pupils with communication and learning needs
- Good behaviour management and communication skills
- Experience in a school, care, youth work, mentoring or childcare setting is desirable
- A positive attitude and willingness to get involved
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
