We are currently recruiting for a resilient and experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with very severe SEN and behavioural needs in a welcoming Primary school in Southwark. This is a highly rewarding but demanding role, ideal for someone confident managing complex needs and significant behavioural challenges within a structured school environment.
The Role:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with severe SEN and behavioural needs
- Implementing personalised support strategies and structured routines
- Managing and de-escalating high-level challenging behaviour
- Supporting emotional regulation, communication and social development
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals
- Maintaining a safe, consistent and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Proven experience supporting children with severe SEN
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Experience with ASD, SEMH, or other complex needs
- A calm, patient and resilient approach
- Confidence working 1:1 within a Primary school setting
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one)
