We are seeking a patient, proactive and resilient PMLD Teaching Assistant to support secondary-aged students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties in a specialist SEND school in Greenwich. You will be helping students with complex physical, communication and sensory needs to access learning, develop independence and thrive in a nurturing environment.
What you'll be doing:
- 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with PMLD and complex medical needs
- Assisting with sensory learning, engagement and therapy-led activities
- Supporting personal care and safe moving & handling (training provided)
- Using alternative communication systems (e.g. PECs, Eye Gaze)
- Promoting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
What we're looking for:
- Experience with PMLD/SLD/complex needs (school or care setting)
- Confident with personal care and mobility support
- Calm, empathetic and physically active
- Team-Teach or similar training beneficial (or willing to complete)
