We are seeking a dedicated and patient Functional Skills Tutor to provide tailored English and Maths support to a male student in Sutton. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, structured sessions that build confidence, improve core skills, and support the learner's individual educational goals. This is a part-time position suitable for an experienced tutor, teacher, or learning support professional with a strong understanding of Functional Skills delivery.

Delivery: In-person

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 Functional Skills English and Maths sessions
  • Plan and adapt lessons to meet the student's learning needs and ability level
  • Support the development of literacy, numeracy, communication, and confidence
  • Monitor progress and maintain brief session records
  • Create a positive, supportive, and professional learning environment
  • Encourage motivation, engagement, and independent learning skills

Requirements:

  • Experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills English and Maths
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, reliable, and adaptable approach
  • Ability to engage and motivate learners on a 1:1 basis
  • Relevant teaching, tutoring, or educational qualifications preferred
  • Enhanced DBS check preferred or willingness to obtain one

Working Hours: 4 days per week, 2:00pm - 6:00pm, Total: 16 hours per week

Pay: Competitive hourly rate, dependent on experience and qualifications
