We are working with a supportive and inclusive school that is seeking an experienced Healthcare Support Assistant to provide 1:1 care for a learner with high medical needs within the school environment. This is a vital and rewarding role, supporting the child to access education safely, comfortably, and with dignity, while working closely with teaching staff and healthcare professionals.
The Role:
- Provide 1:1 healthcare and personal care support throughout the school day
- Support a learner with complex and high medical needs in line with individual care plans
- Monitor the child's health, wellbeing, and medical requirements
- Administer care as trained and directed by healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with school staff and parents
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience supporting individuals with complex or high medical needs (essential)
- Previous experience in a healthcare, SEN, or school-based setting
- Calm, compassionate, and reliable approach
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality
- Willingness to undertake training specific to the learner's needs
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
