The Role
- Deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons to KS3 and KS4 students
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of learning needs and abilities
- Support pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and additional learning difficulties
- Create a structured, nurturing, and positive classroom environment
- Differentiated learning to ensure every student can access the curriculum and make progress
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and pastoral teams
- Contribute towards EHCP targets and individual student outcomes
- Celebrate progress in all forms, building confidence, resilience, and independence
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
- Has strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
- Can adapt lessons to support a wide range of learning profiles
- Demonstrates excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- Has a patient, consistent, and nurturing approach
- Is creative, flexible, and committed to inclusive education
- Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or is willing to obtain one
- Previous SEN experience is welcomed but not essential. Applications are encouraged from mainstream teachers looking to develop their career within specialist education.
