A large SEN School based in Newham is seeking an Autism Support Worker / SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs for an ASAP start. You will be tasked with supporting a wide variation of needs including Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties, Speech and Language and more. The students' needs vary in severity; some will be verbal, some non-verbal.
If you have any experience with children aged 11+ with SEN, we would love to hear from you! This does not have to be direct school experience; any transferable skills will be considered.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Support students with SEN on a day-to-day basis (ASD, SLD, SP&L and more)
- Liaising with Class Teachers and the SENDCO regarding progress of children
- Provide a stimulating and safe learning environment for children
- Delivering specialist interventions
- Liaising with the school's therapists
- ASAP Start - Long-Term - Full Time
- £90 - £110 per day
- Located in the Borough of Newham
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
- Experience of supporting children (16+) with SEN - Autism, PMLD, SLD, SP&L - Ideal
- Childcare related experience, ideally with a SEN focus - Ideal
- You MUST be resilient, patient, calm-natured, empathetic & adaptable
- A hardworking and driven individual who will exceed all expectations of the role requirements
