We are seeking a committed and experienced Maths SEN Teacher (Key Stage 3-4) to join a specialist provision in Ealing supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will deliver engaging and differentiated maths lessons while promoting student confidence, independence, and academic progress within a supportive learning environment.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver creative, differentiated maths lessons tailored to individual student needs and abilities.
  • Support students with SEND including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, dyslexia, and moderate learning difficulties.
  • Adapt teaching strategies and resources to ensure accessibility and student engagement.
  • Develop and implement individual learning plans and support EHCP targets.
  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress in maths and provide regular feedback to parents and staff.
  • Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Use behaviour management strategies to support emotional regulation and positive learning behaviours.
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and external professionals.
  • Encourage student confidence, independence, and problem-solving skills.
  • Support students in preparing for assessments, functional skills, or GCSE examinations where appropriate.
  • Ensure safeguarding and wellbeing policies are followed at all times.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching maths within SEN or inclusive education settings.
  • Strong understanding of differentiated teaching and SEND strategies.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students with additional learning needs.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience teaching Functional Skills or GCSE Maths.
  • Knowledge of autism-friendly and trauma-informed teaching approaches.
  • SEN specialism or additional SEND qualifications/training.
  • Team Teach, Makaton, or de-escalation training.
