About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Design & Technology Teacher to join our thriving secondary school in North London. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality DT lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering creativity, innovation, and practical skills in a well-equipped learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive DT lessons in accordance with the national curriculum.
- Teach a range of DT specialisms such as product design, resistant materials, graphics, or textiles, depending on expertise.
- Create a safe and stimulating classroom environment that encourages students to develop their practical and design thinking skills.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and support.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
- Contribute to the wider school community, including participation in school events, clubs, and enrichment activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency and progression across the DT curriculum.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- A degree in Design & Technology or a related subject.
- Proven experience teaching DT at the secondary level is preferred.
- Strong subject knowledge and up-to-date understanding of DT curriculum developments.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
