An inclusive Specialist School, based in Lewisham, are looking for a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team this month and help support their students in the classroom. The pupils at this school have either a specific learning disability (SLD) or profound and multiple learning disability (PMLD). For this reason, the students need a Teaching Assistant who is caring, supportive, friendly and non-judgemental – if you possess these qualities, then the school need you! As a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant, you will help support a small class of 8 students, alongside the class teacher and other Teaching Assistants. You will help support the students with different forms of learning, including cooking, swimming, sensory play and physical activities. You will also help with personal care and mobility support, and also provide emotional support to all the students. The school are looking for a bubbly and vibrant Teaching Assistant, with a passion for special educational needs. Any previous experience working with children and/or adults with disabilities would be great, but personality is the most important factor. The school are ideally looking for someone who is able to start straight away. There is flexible for full-time and part-time.
