Remedy Education are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Teacher to join a supportive special school in East London from January. The role involves teaching a small class of Year 9-11 learners who are working between Entry Level 2 and Level 1. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate teacher who enjoys working in a nurturing, structured setting and can engage learners with SEMH and Autism through creative, differentiated teaching.

The role:

  • Plan and deliver tailored lessons to a class of 10 formal learners working between Entry Level 2 and Level 1
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment that supports emotional and social development
  • Adapt teaching materials to meet a range of learning styles and cognitive abilities
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral staff to support individual needs
  • Monitor progress, record outcomes, and report effectively to the SENCO and senior leadership team
  • Promote independence, confidence, and resilience in all learners

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent
  • Have experience teaching in SEN, SEMH, or Autism settings
  • Understand the needs of learners working below age-related expectations
  • Demonstrate excellent behaviour management and strong communication skills
