SEMH Outreach Tutor based in Bromley, Part time hours (10/15 hours per week) Remedy are looking for dedicated SEMH Outreach Tutors to work with students across Bromley, providing tailored 1:1 education and support outside of a mainstream setting.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one tutoring in Maths, English, or Functional Skills to students with SEMH needs.
Adapt lesson plans to meet individual learning and emotional needs.
Build positive relationships with students, fostering trust and engagement.
Monitor and track student progress, adjusting teaching methods as needed.
Collaborate with families and other professionals to ensure holistic support for the student.
Key Skills and
Experience
Proven experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ideally in an outreach or tutoring capacity.
Knowledge of different SEN categories (e. g., autism, dyslexia, ADHD, speech and language needs).
Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and school staff.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to a wide range of learning needs.
A proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
A passion for education and helping children achieve their full potential.
A teaching qualification (e. g., PGCE, QTS) or relevant SEN training (e. g., SENDCO, SEN TA experience) is desirable but not essential.
