Location: Redbridge, East London

Salary Range: 95 - 112 per day (depending on experience)

Are you a patient, proactive, and passionate individual experienced in supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Remedy Education is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the London Borough of Redbridge for a long-term role starting in September 2025. This school is committed to nurturing students who face behavioural and emotional challenges and is looking for someone who can build strong relationships and make a real impact on their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils displaying challenging behaviour.
  • Work closely with pupils who have SEMH needs, helping them develop positive coping strategies and build self-regulation.
  • Implement and support individual behaviour plans (IBPs), using restorative approaches and de-escalation strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCO, and other pastoral staff to ensure consistent and targeted interventions.
  • Promote a calm, safe, and respectful learning environment that enables all pupils to thrive.
  • Maintain detailed records of behaviour incidents and progress.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or behavioural challenges.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed practices, and positive behaviour support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students.
  • Experience in a school or youth support setting is essential.
  • A valid enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to behavioural incidents.
