Remedy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism - Classroom Teaching Assistant to support a year 7 autism affected pupil, providing enriching support to young pupils within a SEN Secondary School setting. The pupil is very high functioning and completely verbal, he requires someone who can support him academically and with behavioural issues. You will collaborate with the classroom teacher and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for the student.

Experience:

  • Working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
  • Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.

Requirements:

  • Previous child-based experience: A proven track record of working with children in an educational or supportive capacity.
  • An understanding of basic SEND principalities.
  • A valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check on the update service to ensure the safety and well-being of our students.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for contributing to the educational development and well-being of young individuals.
