We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant or Support Worker who will be working alongside a tutor who has previous experience working with a range of disabilities such as:
- Physical disabilities
- Sensory disabilities
- Cognitive or intellectual disabilities
- Psychiatric disabilities
- Neurological disabilities
- Development disabilities
- Learning disabilities
- Speech and Language Disabilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Care Assistance:
- Help with tasks such as dressing, bathing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist with mobility (e.g., transfers from bed to wheelchair).
- Ensure personal hygiene and cleanliness are maintained.
- Health and Well-being Support:
- Assist with medication management, ensuring the individual takes prescribed medications at the right time.
- Monitor health conditions and alert health care professionals if required.
- Assist with dietary needs, including preparing meals and ensuring proper nutrition.
- Emotional and Social Support:
- Offer companionship and emotional support to alleviate loneliness or anxiety.
- Engage in social activities, hobbies, and recreational activities to promote mental well-being.
- Provide encouragement and motivational support, helping individuals achieve their personal goals.
- Assistance with Mobility and Transportation:
- Help individuals move around, whether by walking, using mobility aids, or transportation.
- Accompany individuals to appointments, social events, or community outings as needed.
