About the Role: We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced 1:1 SEN Tutor to provide personalised support to students with special educational needs in the Croydon area. This is a full-time position, ideal for a dedicated professional with a passion for inclusive education and a strong track record of working with children who require additional support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 tuition tailored to the individual learning needs of the students
- Support students with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, SEMH and speech & language difficulties
- Implement EHCP strategies and work collaboratively with schools, families, and external agencies
- Track progress and adapt learning plans to ensure ongoing development
- Provide both academic and emotional support, helping build confidence and independence
Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a 1:1 or small group setting
- Relevant teaching or tutoring qualifications (e.g., QTS, HLTA, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach
- Full-time availability (Monday-Friday, during school hours)
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
