We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Technician to join our engineering and maintenance team. Although we are based in Bristol, this role is remote, with national travel across the UK and occasional trips to Ireland and Europe. The successful candidate will play a role in fabricating, installing and maintaining remediation and water treatment plants, ensuring seamless operation and efficiency. This is a hands-on role that requires expertise in mechanical and process engineering, with a focus on water treatment processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in fabricating water treatment plants and/or remediation systems, with a strong ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment, including pumps, pipework, and PLCs. A solid understanding of water treatment equipment including the use of lamellas, pH correction and pumps is ideal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation, maintenance and servicing: plant & equipment including (but not limited to) pumps, filtration vessels, dosing systems, pipework and related services.
- Fabrication & preparation: Fabricate bespoke water treatment and remediation systems, ensuring readiness for deployment on various projects.
- Troubleshooting & repairs: Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults, including pumps, pipework, and PLCs.
- Project support: Collaborate with project managers on system design, installation, and maintenance.
- Site visits & travel: Work away from home regularly, with occasional overseas assignments. Travel throughout the UK will be required and working out of our Bristol yard.
What We’re Looking For:
- Mechanical/process engineering background with knowledge on waste water and/or industrial water treatment.
- Fabrication skills, including welding (electrofusion welding experience is desirable).
- Experience in hydraulic and pneumatic pump maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Basic electrical knowledge, with a preference for candidates who are qualified electricians.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and process flow diagrams.
- Full clean UK driving licence (essential).
- Right to work in the UK (required).
