We are recruiting a Nursery Practitioner to join a well‐established early year setting in Tipton, Sandwell. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced early years professional who is confident, motivated and passionate about delivering high‐quality care and education.
Role Overview
This role focuses on leading practice across the setting while supporting the nursery management team. As a Lead Early Years Educator, the Nursery Practitioner will be responsible for curriculum planning, staff support and overseeing daily provision in the absence of senior management.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a key person and fulfil responsibilities expected of a Nursery Practitioner
- Plan and deliver engaging, age‐appropriate learning experiences
- Carry out observations, assessments and progress checks, including 2‐year‐old checks
- Promote a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment for all children
- Build strong partnerships with parents and carers
- Support children with SEND in collaboration with colleagues and external professionals
- Lead and support staff in your role as a senior Nursery Practitioner
- Maintain accurate records, including safeguarding, accidents and incidents
- Ensure compliance with EYFS, safeguarding, health & safety and GDPR
Safeguarding
This position requires a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All staff must follow safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Early Years qualification (full and relevant)
- Post‐qualification experience working as a Nursery Practitioner
- Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, SEND and child development
- Experience supervising or supporting staff
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to lead by example and promote high standards of practice
