We are seeking a Maintenance Person / Handyman for a fantastic Elderly Care Home near Staines. They are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Person to join their beautiful care home on a full time, permanent contract working Monday to Friday.

  • Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours/week
  • Flexibility with shift times
  • £14.42 per hour

As the full-time Maintenance Person / Maintenance Operative you will take responsibility for resolving any home maintenance concerns promptly, ensuring that the care home is a clean and well-maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can do their jobs well. You will have a working knowledge of building systems and related regulatory requirements including, but not limited to: plumbing, HVAC, electrical, equipment repairs and interior/exterior finishes.

You must have good knowledge of relevant health and safety and trade regulations, and have the ability to assess and manage risk. Importantly, you must also have the ability to work on your own initiative and address potential issues as they may arise before they affect the daily running of the Care Home.

Our client is an attractive 50 bedded Care Home specialising in elderly care with a great reputation in the local area. The Care Home has free on-site parking, and there is also a bus stop just outside. You will be working for an established family-owned company with a strong history of supporting and developing their staff. Care Home Maintenance Person responsibilities:
  • Identify and carry out repairs and improvements in accordance with the Care Home’s procedures and quality standards.
  • Ensure that a safe environment is always maintained within the Home, reporting any incidents, accidents, infections or hazards/ faults.
  • Carry out all required tests and checks for various systems of the home on weekly, monthly and annual basis.
Care Home Maintenance Person skills/experience:
  • Good general property maintenance knowledge and skills
  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Assistant, Handyman or Head of Maintenance is preferred
  • Relevant qualifications such as NVQ/Diploma/City & Guilds and Health & Safety/NEBOSH certificate (Desirable but not essential)
