Remedicare Staffing are seeking a Maintenance Person / Handyman for an established elderly Care Home near Slough. The Home is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Person to join their beautiful 30 bedded home on a full or part time, permanent basis.

Key details, Maintenance Person:

  • Reference – PK70268
  • Full or Part Time, permanent role
  • Flexibility with shift times (e.g. 10am-4pm, 9am-3pm)
  • £15.00-16.00 per hour

As the Maintenance Person / Handyman you will take responsibility for resolving any home maintenance concerns promptly, ensuring that the care home is a safe and well-maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can do their jobs well. You will have a working knowledge of building systems and related regulatory requirements including, but not limited to fire safety checks, legionella flushing, basic plumbing, carpentry and electrical jobs, and basic equipment repair.

The current Maintenance Person is reducing his hours ahead of retirement and so the Home can accommodate someone joining on full time or part time hours. They are flexible with shift times and hours, and this is working in an extremely rewarding setting.

Our client is an established Care Home that specialises in elderly care and has a great reputation in the local area. The Care Home has free on-site parking and there is also a bus stop just outside the service with links from Slough town centre.

Care Home Maintenance Person responsibilities:

  • Identify and carry out repairs and improvements in accordance with the Care Home’s procedures and quality standards.
  • Ensure that a safe environment is always maintained within the Home, reporting any incidents, accidents, infections or hazards/ faults.
  • Carry out all required tests and checks for various systems of the home on weekly, monthly and annual basis.

Care Home Maintenance Person skills/experience:

  • Good general property maintenance knowledge and skills
  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Assistant, Handyman or Head of Maintenance is preferred
  • Relevant qualifications such as NVQ/Diploma/City & Guilds and Health & Safety/NEBOSH certificate (Desirable but not essential)
