We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our client's GP practice team across 2 sites in West London (W2). This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HCA to work in a dynamic primary care environment, delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the clinical team.
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing a range of clinical services to our patient population, working autonomously within your scope of practice while being part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities- Clinical Duties:
- Perform venepuncture and phlebotomy services to a high standard
- Conduct and interpret ECGs
- Deliver NHS Health Checks, including health assessments and lifestyle advice
- Provide chronic disease management support, including monitoring patients with long-term conditions
- Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respirations)
- Support diabetic clinics and other disease-specific clinics
- Maintain accurate patient records using clinical systems (SystmOne preferred)
- Ensure all clinical equipment is maintained and calibrated appropriately
- Maintain infection control standards and health & safety procedures
- Support the wider practice team in delivering excellent patient care
- Participate in practice meetings and training sessions
- Work flexibly across both practice sites as required
- Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant in a GP surgery or primary care setting
- Proven competency in:
- Phlebotomy/venepuncture
- ECG recording and basic interpretation
- Chronic disease management
- NHS Health Checks
- Additional clinical skills (e.g., B12 injections, wound care, immunisations)
- Understanding of safeguarding procedures
- Awareness of CQC standards and quality improvement
Our practices are conveniently located in West London (W2), with excellent transport links including:
- Close to Paddington, Bayswater, and Lancaster Gate stations
- Multiple bus routes
- Easy access from across London
Working across two sites will provide variety and the opportunity to work with different patient populations and clinical teams.
