Initial 6-Month Contract
We are looking for an experienced Java/Kotlin Developer to join a fast-paced engineering team working on modern developer tooling and compliance platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to multiple Kotlin and Java-based applications and proof-of-concepts built using modern microservice architecture and agile engineering practices.
The successful candidate will work closely with developers, testers, and stakeholders to build scalable APIs and web applications that support software development governance and engineering standards across a large enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with developers, testers, and wider engineering teams to build and support products
- Design, develop, and implement backend features aligned to backlog priorities
- Contribute to lightweight front-end development using simple UI frameworks
- Build and maintain APIs and microservices using modern engineering practices
- Work collaboratively with the engineering team to design and launch new features
- Proactively engage with users and stakeholders to resolve issues and respond to feature requests
- Operate effectively within an Agile CI/CD delivery environment
- Participate in peer reviews and contribute to automated testing practices
- Commercial experience with Kotlin, or strong Java experience with a willingness to learn Kotlin
- Experience with at least 2–3 of the following: API development, SQL/databases, HTML/Javascript
- Strong experience working with microservices architecture
- Excellent technical troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Experience using developer collaboration tools such as GitHub/Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and take ownership
- Excellent attention to detail and code quality
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
