Overview

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer (GCP) to support the delivery and operation of enterprise Identity & Access Management (IAM) capabilities within a large-scale financial services environment. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a major IAM transformation programme, helping to modernise and enhance identity services through automation, cloud technologies, and DevSecOps best practices. You will play a key role in building and maintaining secure, scalable IAM platforms, working closely with architects, security teams, and application owners across a complex, global organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for IAM components, including policies, connectors, microservices, and integrations
  • Enable automated testing, security scanning, and controlled deployments across DEV, TEST, and PROD environments
  • Drive continuous improvement of IAM release processes and deployment efficiency
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible
  • Ensure consistent, repeatable environments aligned with architectural and compliance standards
  • Develop automation for identity lifecycle management, access provisioning, and system integrations
  • Deploy IAM and related services across Kubernetes, cloud-native, and serverless platforms
  • Manage containerisation, service mesh integrations, certificates, and secrets
  • Embed security into CI/CD pipelines (e.g. vulnerability scanning, secrets detection, code quality checks)
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to align with Zero Trust principles and IAM security policies
  • Work closely with IAM architects, platform teams, and application owners on design and integration
  • Produce and maintain documentation for pipelines, IaC, and operational processes

Key Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform (including GCP provisioning and policy-as-code)
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Expertise in containerisation and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (GKE), Helm/Kustomize
  • Proven experience in CI/CD engineering, including pipeline design, automation, and deployment strategies
  • Experience with data streaming platforms such as Kafka or Pub/Sub
  • Exposure to graph platforms (e.g. Neo4j), including backup, recovery, and observability
  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps practices, including security scanning, IAM, and compliance
  • Experience in release engineering, governance, and change management
  • Knowledge of regionalisation, failover strategies, and data residency requirements

Desirable Experience

  • Familiarity with AWS and Azure environments
  • Experience with Privileged Access Management (PAM) and enterprise IAM solutions

Soft Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, security, and operations teams
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments (Jira, Service Desk tools)
  • Comfortable working in large, global, and fast-paced organisations
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning new technologies
  • Ability to work across multiple time zones and in culturally diverse teams

Why Apply?

  • Opportunity to contribute to a large-scale IAM transformation programme
  • Work with modern cloud, DevOps, and security technologies
  • Fully remote role with exposure to global teams and enterprise-scale systems
  • Fast-paced, high-impact environment within financial services
