Remarkable Jobs are recruiting for a Software Engineer specialising in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) to join an established R&D team in Salisbury. This is a hands-on embedded software role, developing firmware that runs on SHARC DSP processors within high-end audio products. You'll work from early concepts and prototypes through to developing the software that controls the DSP and processes audio signals.
The role:
- Develop real-time embedded software for DSP applications
- Develop and implement DSP algorithms and audio processing
- Prototype processing components in MATLAB, then implement them in C
- Write drivers for DSP and PCB peripherals
- Work with DAC/ADC and digital audio circuitry
- Bring up and debug new prototype PCBs
- Work closely with firmware, electronics and acoustics engineers
- Use oscilloscopes, logic analysers and audio test equipment
- Take part in peer code reviews
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum 3 years' commercial C/C++ experience
- Strong real-time embedded software experience
- Experience with DSP / signal processing applications
- Audio DSP knowledge would be highly beneficial
- Experience with filter design, FFT, sample rate conversion or dynamic range control
- Analog Devices SHARC experience would be a big advantage
- Familiarity with electronics and hardware debugging
- Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or a similar engineering discipline
- Git, Jira and Agile experience beneficial
