Equipment Technician
Location: Dagenham, East London
Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent
Working Pattern: On-site | 40 hours per week | Rotating shifts
We are looking for a practical and organised Equipment Technician to join their busy operation in Dagenham. This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring specialist rental equipment is prepared, tested, maintained and ready for use.
The Role
As an Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards across a large inventory of specialist rental equipment.
Key responsibilities include:

Preparing, checking and testing equipment before and after rental

Carrying out PAT testing and functional checks
-
Completing minor repairs and identifying/reporting damaged equipment

Ensuring equipment meets required quality and safety standards

Updating inventory and asset management systems accurately

Supporting stock control and equipment tracking
-
Liaising with external contractors where required
-
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment

Following health & safety procedures, including manual and mechanical handling

Working closely with operational teams and senior management to meet business requirements
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is practical, organised and detail-focused, with a strong commitment to quality.
You will ideally have:

Experience working with equipment, tools, electrical products or technical equipment

PAT testing experience or knowledge would be advantageous

Confidence carrying out basic checks, fault identification and minor repairs

Good IT skills and the ability to learn in-house asset management systems

Experience working in a fast-paced operational, warehouse, technical or equipment environment
-
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
-
Good communication and teamwork skills
-
A proactive, hands-on approach
-
Flexibility to work overtime and occasional weekends when required
Hours & Benefits
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern between 7:00am and 8:00pm, including some weekend work.
