Reporting to the Head of Operations, the ideal candidate must be a graduate with at least 5 years' experience within Transport and Logistics. The ideal candidate must have previously managed a large fleet of at least 130 vehicles and managed a budget of 22 million.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Overall fleet management to include 'account management' of fleet providers.
- Achievement of the daily/weekly/monthly KPIs through effective guidance and coaching of transport team managers.
- Monitoring all investigation activity to understand root cause and ensure that corrective and preventative action has been implemented and solutions identified (or escalated) where necessary.
- Supporting the control of department resources and costs within agreed finance targets.
- Monitoring routing and working collaboratively with wider teams to reduce damage and manage costs effectively.
- Taking an inclusive approach to continuous improvement by reviewing the operation as a whole and making recommendations.
- Utilising and analysing relevant data from transport and associated systems to identify issues and proactively drive improvements through transport team members.
- Ensuring transport team managers are leading required change throughout their teams to ensure initiatives are fully implemented and their teams are engaged throughout the process.
- Ensure that the Company Health & Safety Policy and Company Risk Assessments are effectively implemented at site level.
- Implement and manage standard processes and procedures across all locations.
Attributes:
- A clear understanding, application and strategic delivery of transport compliance in previous roles.
- Previous experience of supporting the supervision/management of a transport department ensuring optimum efficiency and effectiveness.
- International CPC holder is essential.
- Experience within a fast-paced, multi-drop logistics environment is preferable.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to fully understand budget and financial targets.
- Evidence of managing and driving change in situations constantly requiring adaptation.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate large teams, with excellent people management skills.
- Work collaboratively and influence to build strong, trusting relationships with peers and other business departments.
- Evidence of creative and innovative thinking.
