Role Overview
Our client, a specialist third-party logistics (3PL) provider, is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with deep, hands-on knowledge of rented pallet space, shared-user warehousing, and contract logistics. The role is focused on winning new business within pallet storage, ambient and temperature-controlled environments, and value-added warehousing solutions.
You will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new customers requiring flexible pallet storage and 3PL services, while working closely with operational and solutions design teams to deliver commercially viable, customer-focused logistics solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and secure new business opportunities for rented pallet space and shared-user warehousing
- Target customers requiring short- and long-term pallet storage solutions across multiple sectors
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities from initial contact through to contract close
Commercial & Solution Design
- Develop tailored 3PL proposals including pallet storage pricing, handling rates, throughput models, and value-added services
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of warehouse cost drivers such as space utilisation, labour, equipment, and throughput
- Work closely with operations and solutions teams to ensure pricing and service models are operationally deliverable and profitable
