About the Role
As Senior Director, Platform Engineering – Data Platform & Agentic Platform, you will lead the engineering organization responsible for delivering and operating shared platform capabilities that enable trusted data services and production-grade AI-driven workflows. Working closely with Platform Product Management, you will help ensure platforms are scalable, reliable, secure, and widely adopted across product domains while supporting innovation through high-quality engineering execution.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering delivery for shared platform services and data capabilities consumed by multiple product domains.
- Translate product-defined platform requirements into scalable technical designs and executable delivery plans.
- Provide capacity forecasts, sequencing options, and delivery risk assessments to support platform roadmap decisions and domain commitments.
- Build and operate ingestion, integration, and modernization capabilities that improve consistency, trust, and reuse of IP data across domains.
- Implement canonical data contracts and APIs as defined through governance, including versioning and backward compatibility mechanisms.
- Implement and operate agent workflow platform capabilities aligned to product-defined standards and interfaces, including traceability, state handling, and convergence patterns.
- Implement production-grade evaluation, observability, auditability, and guardrail mechanisms required for safe AI workflows.
- Implement security controls, access governance, encryption, and audit requirements in partnership with InfoSec while ensuring enterprise SDLC, vulnerability management, and change management compliance.
Requirements
- 12+ years leading platform engineering teams delivering shared services or large-scale SaaS systems with production operations accountability.
- Demonstrated success building and operating platforms adopted by multiple product teams, including reliability discipline (SLOs), observability, and incident management.
- Strong hands-on technical leadership background in distributed systems and platform engineering.
- Deep experience with data platform engineering at scale, including ingestion and integration patterns, data quality enforcement, metadata and lineage, and secure access controls.
- Experience enabling AI-powered systems in production, including evaluation, monitoring, observability, auditability, and guardrails.
- Strong ability to partner with product leaders on contract-driven platforms and deliver outcomes without creating bottlenecks.
- Proven capability to hire and develop high-performing engineering teams, including AI platform engineers.
- Experience building AI workflow platforms or shared AI platform services, including orchestration and production-grade monitoring; familiarity with runtime safety patterns and operating regulated or high-trust systems is advantageous.
