Are you excited by the opportunity to define how AI systems consume and interact with market intelligence at scale? Can you shape the standards, primitives, and distribution models that enable AI-native products across a global business?

At ICIS, our mission is to optimize the world’s resources. We help companies make strategic, sustainable decisions by bringing transparency to markets across the world. We create a comprehensive view of commodities markets, providing companies with the data and intelligence to successfully navigate across global value chains every day. Our customers benefit from instant access to price assessments, reports and forecasts, a dedicated news channel, and supply and demand data.

Our teams are fuelled by curiosity, relentlessly pursuing better customer outcomes. We’re on a mission to deliver an unparalleled customer experience, excelling in communication. In a fast-paced environment, we thrive, embracing change with flexibility and composure under pressure. Our high-energy, self-motivated individuals are driven by a genuine desire to make a positive mark on our business. But that’s not all - we’re creative problem solvers with an entrepreneurial spirit.

ICIS is building the AI capability that will define how chemical markets get intelligence, and this role owns the platform foundations that make it possible. You will define the AI-ready data strategy, semantics layer, and MCP-first distribution approach that powers internal product teams, partner integrations, and AI-native customer experiences. This is a highly influential individual contributor role where you will shape platform standards, drive adoption, and help establish how ICIS delivers trusted market intelligence through AI.

Responsibilities

  • Own the platform mission and roadmap for AI-ready data, semantics, and MCP-first distribution.
  • Define the standards, data contracts, schemas, versioning, deprecation approaches, and quality measures that underpin AI-ready data across ICIS.
  • Evaluate customer signals and identify which repeatable workflows should become platform primitives, which remain bespoke, and which should be retired.
  • Drive adoption of platform primitives across internal product teams, measuring success through usage and business impact.
  • Shape AI-native distribution strategy, including protocols, channels, integrations, and commercial approaches.
  • Lead the AI-ready data and content operations platform squad, providing direction and alignment without direct people management responsibility.
  • Co-author the operating model for scalable AI platforms, including evaluation, oversight, lineage, and responsible AI capabilities.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to accelerate adoption, integrations, and commercial opportunities.

Requirements

  • A track record shipping platform capabilities that others build upon, such as APIs, data products, semantic layers, evaluation frameworks, or comparable platform primitives.
  • Experience owning platform strategy, roadmap, and delivery outcomes in data, AI, developer platform, or similarly technical product environments.
  • Technical credibility to contribute to architecture discussions and evaluate approaches across areas such as RAG, evaluations, agents, tool use, MCP, and data platforms.
  • Recent hands-on experience working with AI tooling through prototypes, integrations, agents, tools, or related practical applications.
  • Experience influencing decisions in a matrixed organisation and working effectively with senior stakeholders across engineering, data science, commercial, legal, and executive teams.
  • Strong product judgement with the ability to translate customer and operational feedback into scalable platform direction.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity, creating structure where needed, and driving platform adoption at scale.
  • Experience with semantic technologies, AI/data interoperability protocols, AI platform integrations, or major data distribution ecosystems is beneficial.

Why This Role is Different

  • This is platform product ownership focused on shipping reusable capabilities, driving measurable adoption, and creating commercial impact through AI-native channels.
  • You will work directly with the VP Product Management and leadership across ICIS to help shape how the AI operating model evolves at ICIS, including how platform capabilities support delivery squads, products, and partner integrations.
  • The AI-native distribution strategy is a strategic investment by ICIS, and this role is central to bringing that vision to life.
  • As the platform capability expands, progression opportunities may include deeper individual contributor leadership, broader platform ownership, or future leadership opportunities within the growing AI platform organisation.

How You Work With The Rest Of The Organisation

  • Partner closely with forward-deployed squads, using customer signals and real-world workflows to prioritise platform primitives and capabilities.
  • Enable adoption across the wider ICIS product estate through office hours, enablement activities, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Collaborate with external partners across AI platforms and data distribution channels, helping shape commercial and technical integration strategies.
  • Act as a credible platform spokesperson when engaging with customers on AI-native distribution, MCP integrations, and platform capabilities, supporting commercial conversations alongside Sales teams.
