The Sales Training Specialist II role sits within Elsevier’s Sales Enablement and Learning community, a collaborative team focused on building the skills, confidence, and effectiveness of our sales professionals. The team works closely with Sales, Product, and Leadership stakeholders to design and deliver high‑quality training, tools, and learning resources that support sales performance, customer engagement, and business growth.
We are looking for a dynamic Sales Trainer / Performance Coach to join the Learning & Performance team at Elsevier. The ideal candidate will have experience working in sales, a detailed knowledge of Sales Methodology, and be adept at designing and delivering sales training content across blended learning channels.
Responsibilities
- Project manage the delivery of a learning curriculum comprising multiple overlapping workstreams, ensuring effective scope control, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and clear communications to drive successful outcomes.
- Design, deliver, and embed Elsevier’s Challenger sales and CSM methodology through blended learning pathways, including authoring digital learning content, facilitating live and virtual sessions, conducting sales assessments, analysing GONG call recordings, and providing targeted performance coaching.
- Provide ongoing guidance and support to front‑line managers and senior leaders to ensure learning is focused and post‑learning implementation plans are successful and achieve long‑term behaviour change.
- Leverage learning technologies and enablement tools (e.g., Gong, Spekit) to deliver just‑in‑time learning, digitise assets, and drive efficiency and scalability across sales support initiatives.
Requirements
- Demonstrated success in sales throughout their career.
- Certification in coaching or a strong background in effectively coaching sales performance improvement and implementing change.
- Expertise in integrating adult learning and instructional design principles into sales training.
- Strong skills in project management and stakeholder management.
- Bias for action, agility, and capability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Experience embracing data and technology to deliver learning effectiveness.
