Job Purpose

As a Quantitative Analyst/Data Scientist, you will design, improve and maintain predictive market models and Python (Dash) applications that support trading and operational decision‑making across global energy and chemical markets. Your work will involve collaborating with market experts, translating domain knowledge into models, and delivering scalable cloud‑based solutions.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance Python (Dash) applications to enable human interaction with data‑science models.
  • Co‑develop, refine and deploy quantitative market models, leveraging diverse analytical techniques and cloud‑based automation.
  • Engage market experts to explain model insights, iterate on market structure assumptions, and deepen operational understanding.
  • Improve code quality, architecture and maintainability for operational models and backend data systems.
  • Develop, test and launch new application features and respond to product‑owner prioritised change requests.
  • Monitor, refactor and update live services for operational models and applications.
  • Debug code, enforce documentation standards and ensure code readability.
  • Facilitate cross‑team communication through rapid prototyping and demos.
  • Continuously learn new techniques, apply them to existing and new problems, and share knowledge with peers.

Key Skills / Experience Required

  • 3–5 years of practical software engineering experience, preferably in market‑price contexts.
  • Excellent Python skills, including experience with application libraries such as Dash.
  • Proficient version‑control usage in collaborative projects.
  • Experience designing and managing containerised applications and familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).
  • Data‑handling and modelling knowledge, including relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate complex findings to diverse stakeholders.
  • Interest in data‑analytics or data‑science projects that combine human and machine collaboration.
