Are you passionate about shaping the future of identity and access management in a global enterprise? Do you enjoy turning complex security principles into practical, scalable solutions that enable secure innovation across human, non-human and AI identities?

About our Team

The Central, Operations, Governance and Security (COGS) department is a RELX entity that promotes collaborative working across RELX and its business units. We provide central, federated and local capabilities using best-in-class technologies in a transparent, cost-optimised way.

About the Role

As a Senior IAM Solutions Architect, you will act as design authority for Saviynt, RELX's IAM platform, across IGA, authentication and privileged access for human, non-human and AI identities. Combining hands-on Saviynt, Azure and Entra expertise with strong business acumen, you will turn principles into implementable designs and assure delivery against the target architecture, working directly with application architects, engineers and developers. Reporting to the Head of COGS, you will align closely with the Saviynt Product Owner, who remains accountable for processes, BAU acceptance, delivery and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Own the identity architecture roadmap, standards and artefacts across IGA, PIM, PAM, AAG, authentication and human, non-human and AI identities, aligned with enterprise architecture.
  • Produce reviewed Saviynt designs for integrations with Entra ID, Azure, directories, HR systems, applications and PAM platforms, covering data flows, trust boundaries, authoritative sources and policy logic.
  • Translate controls into testable designs for joiner-mover-leaver, requests, approvals, provisioning, reconciliation, access reviews and segregation of duties, with clear acceptance criteria and traceability.
  • Design SSO, MFA, federation and Conditional Access patterns, assessing options and new vendor capabilities on value, risk, cost and scalability.
  • Define reusable patterns for service accounts, service principals, managed/workload identities and AI agents: ownership, least privilege, credential lifecycle, review, revocation, bounded delegated authority and human oversight.
  • Coach engineers through build and deployment, review designs before build and evidence before release, and maintain decision records and tactical exceptions with risk, owner and expiry.
  • Define readiness criteria (supportability, monitoring, recovery, emergency access, reconciliation, failure handling), provide design documentation before handover and translate audit and regulatory controls into evidence requirements.
  • Track findings, exceptions and readiness gaps to closure with the Product Owner, reporting quarterly and supporting incident diagnosis without owning BAU.

Requirements

  • Proven IAM, IGA or security solution architecture experience in a complex enterprise, including hands-on design and implementation guidance; BS in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience (advanced degree preferred).
  • Strong hands-on Saviynt (ideally EIC) architecture, configuration and integration expertise with advanced Identity Governance knowledge; other identity vendor experience will be considered.
  • Advanced knowledge of Workday, Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, MFA and SCIM; working knowledge of OAuth, OIDC and SAML for REST API integration.
  • Strong Azure and Entra knowledge (app registrations, service principals, managed identities, RBAC, PIM, Key Vault); familiarity with AWS.
  • Knowledge of PAM concepts and toolsets. Desirable: identity consolidation, Zero Trust, infrastructure-as-code, audit experience, and Saviynt, Microsoft or architecture certifications.
  • Familiarity with agentic platforms and security tooling (Copilot/Agent 365, Bedrock/AgentCore, Claude managed agents, MCP) and non-human/AI identity risks.
  • Understanding of DevOps and agile; able to review C# code and use AI tools for documentation and code.
  • Strong communication and practical coaching skills, working directly with application architects, engineers and developers; articulates trade-offs in value, risk, cost and effort, manages technical debt credibly and respects Product Owner accountability.
