Cell Press is launching a prestigious field‑shaping new journal to serve biotechnology researchers. This full‑time editorial position will lead the launch and ongoing growth of the journal, shaping its editorial vision and coordinating a high‑quality peer review process.

Responsibilities:

  • Define the aims, scope, and formats for the journal, developing a broad, impactful, contemporary, and cohesive publication.
  • Leverage an extensive network of leading researchers to attract world‑leading article submissions.
  • Travel extensively to engage with the research community by attending conferences and visiting research institutes.
  • Recruit and manage an in‑house editorial team, coordinating rigorous evaluation of submissions to ensure the highest quality and value of the journal.
  • Develop and foster partnerships with other editorial teams at Cell Press and cross‑functional operations, marketing and press colleagues to contribute to the overall publishing strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Proven biotechnology research expertise with a broad interest across the journal’s scope.
  • A deep international network of researchers within the scope of the journal, coupled with a demonstrated ability to engage and influence.
