About our Team Print Supply Chain Management is responsible for printing/manufacturing books, demand forecasting, deciding where products should be produced, and distribution, warehousing, transportation, stocking, and print-on-demand fulfillment., We are seeking an experienced supply chain leader to oversee the Books English Language supply chain organization end-to-end.
This role is responsible for manufacturing operations, fulfilment execution, supply chain optimization, supplier performance, and strategic planning across multiple geographies.
You will play a key role in translating business strategy into operational execution while developing teams, improving service performance, and driving continuous improvement.,
- Lead the Books English Language supply chain organization end-to-end, accountable for manufacturing operations, fulfilment execution, and regional supply chain optimization for Elsevier Inc. and Elsevier Ltd publications.
- Set long-term supply chain strategy including network planning, capacity and resource planning, supply-demand balancing, and translating business strategy into operational execution.
- Oversee print manufacturing and supplier production performance, including quality governance, scheduling and prioritization, and manufacturing cost optimization.
- Own order fulfilment and distribution operations, including service levels, warehouse and logistics coordination, delivery performance, and customer escalation management.
- Govern supplier and partner relationships in collaboration with the Supplier Management function, resolving operational issues and driving continuous improvement.
- Manage supply chain risk and business continuity activities.
- Lead a multi-geography team including 5 direct reports and indirect or functional reports.
- Drive talent development, change leadership, and high-performance team outcomes.
Leadership experience managing teams, driving change, and motivating staff across multiple geographies.
- Master's degree preferred, Logistics or Economics; Lean Six Sigma certification a plus.
- Proven track record leading print or publishing supply chain operations, including manufacturing, demand forecasting, inventory management, fulfilment, distribution, and supplier performance management.
- Strong strategic and financial acumen with experience preparing and managing budgets, assessing cost-benefit, and translating strategy into operational execution.
- Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point) and comfort with operational analytics and dashboards, including exposure to AI-powered analytics.
- Excellent influencing, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across a matrix organization and high-pressure environment.
- Publishing industry experience is desirable; knowledge of Elsevier fulfilment systems and logistics processes is a plus.
- Willingness and ability to travel regionally and work across multiple sites.
- Direct people management experience, including managing direct and indirect teams.
- Experience working in a matrix organization and managing complex workflows is a plus.
- Ability to manage cross-cultural teams.
