Overview
In this role you apply environmental and planning law expertise to build and maintain practical, plain-English guidance content. You’ll shape AI-enabled legal workflows and collaborate with product and editorial teams to embed expertise into innovative solutions. The position sits within LexisNexis Practical Guidance, supporting lawyers with up-to-date, real-world content and brand impact across Australia. You’ll work hybrid in Melbourne, Sydney, or Brisbane, contributing to a mission-driven, scalable legal knowledge platform.

Responsibilities
- Create, review and maintain plain-English Environment & Planning content
- Leverage AI-assisted tools to improve speed, consistency and usability of content
- Collaborate with technology, product and editorial teams to embed legal expertise into AI-enabled solutions
- Ensure content reflects real-world practice, market developments and trends
- Support brand awareness and influence market share with clients and stakeholders
Key requirements
- 3+ years PQE in Australian legal practice
- Experience as an environment and planning lawyer in Victoria, NSW or Queensland
- Litigation experience is advantageous (planning and development appeals)
- Strong knowledge of planning, development and environmental regulatory frameworks
- Experience advising on administrative, environmental, planning and local government law
- Excellent communication and plain-English writing skills
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
- Aptitude for building and fostering relationships with diverse clients and stakeholders
