Overview
In this role you lead the Core Content team to ensure high-quality, current, and compliant legal content across looseleaf, newsletters, and reference titles. You’ll align editorial standards with metrics, manage budgets, and drive efficiencies through process improvements and GenAI-enabled workflows. The position partners with Ed Ops, REPH/Straive, and cross-functional teams to keep products relevant and valuable for customers. You’ll shape content strategy, mentor leaders, and oversee timely content updates that support pricing and portfolio growth.

Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Core Content team to align with strategy and commercial objectives
- Manage change and sustain team engagement during transitions
- Performance management, coaching, and formal evaluations; recruitment and training
- Foster cross-functional collaboration and share GenAI learnings and workflow redesign opportunities
- Mentor leadership and grow management capabilities within the department
- Allocate workload and manage portfolios across team members
- Ensure content stays current through developments in law, procedures, and case law
- Oversee content improvements to justify annual price increases
- Coordinate editorial processes with REPH/Straive and ensure efficient updating workflows
- Collaborate with Ed Ops/REPH/Straive leadership to design efficient processes
- Share product and portfolio knowledge with internal stakeholders
- Support content development initiatives and new business cases
- Maintain operating costs within budget and forecast costs for budgets and reforecasts
- Identify cost-saving opportunities across titles
Key requirements
- University degree or equivalent (legal preferred)
- Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Knowledge of publishing technologies and publishing workflow from idea to customer delivery
- Publishing experience (3+ years across multiple teams)
- Legal practice experience desirable
- Strong relationship-building, leadership, and performance management skills
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage budgets and forecast costs
