Not your average driving job.
One day you could be carefully relocating a research laboratory's specialist equipment, the next you're helping a library move thousands of books without a single one going astray, or managing a full office relocation for a business that can't afford any downtime.
This is commercial relocation at its most varied β and it needs a driver who takes as much pride in the "how" as the "what." You'll be behind the wheel of a rigid HGV (Cat C), but the job doesn't stop when you park up.
You're hands-on throughout β loading, securing, and delivering with the kind of care that protects not just the goods, but the client's premises too.
Think white-glove service on a commercial scale, whether that's an office move, a school, or a hospital.
What the day-to-day looks like: Every project is different.
Some days it's a straightforward removals job; other days it's a large-scale specialist relocation with multiple moving parts, external contractors to coordinate with, and a real sense of "we got this exactly right." You'll manage inventory in and out of storage, keep on top of compliance paperwork (walk-arounds, waste transfer notes β the essentials), and represent the business with a professional, can-do attitude at every stop.
Occasional overnight stays come with the territory when jobs take you further afield β variety is part of the appeal here, not a drawback.
What you'll need: A full Cat C licence is essential β that's the non-negotiable.
Beyond that, we're far more interested in your attitude than a perfect CV.
If you've got physical stamina, a methodical approach, and genuinely care about doing a job properly (rather than just quickly), you'll fit right in.
Experience in removals or relocation is a real bonus, but transferable skills from logistics, hospitality, trades, or anywhere else that demands reliability and care are just as welcome.
Nice-to-haves rather than deal-breakers: FORS awareness, ADR classifications, a CSCS card, or Asbestos Awareness training.
Basic DBS and BPSS clearance will be arranged for you.
In short: if you want a driving role with genuine variety, real responsibility, and the satisfaction of handling things that matter β this is worth a conversation.
