RELOcruitment is delighted to be partnering with an award-winning Removals & Storage firm that offers professional solutions across the globe. They are now seeking an HGV Driver to join their busy team based in Wembley. Our client is looking for a self-motivated individual capable of delivering excellent customer service, demonstrating strong leadership, flexibility, and a conscientious approach to getting tasks done.
In this role, you will be required to manage a regional branch in the manager’s absence. You will be fully conversant with company procedures, ensuring that standards of discipline, workmanship, and safety are upheld for both yourself and the team under your supervision. This is a full-time, permanent position working 40 hours per week (Overtime available). Previous experience as an HGV Driver within the Removals industry is essential.
Knowledge & Experience:- Handling customers to a superior level of service delivery.
- Directing and controlling team members, liaising directly with customers.
- Good geographic knowledge of UK.
- Knowledge of working time directive.
- Ensuring Company instructions and standards of discipline, workmanship and safety (including accident reporting) are maintained at all times.
- Advanced supervisory and team leadership/motivated skills.
- Ability to work from plans/drawings and instruct staff accordingly.
- Knowledge and compliance of ‘O’ License regulations and working time directive.
- Knowledge and experience of office and commercial work.
- Knowledge and experience of implementing Health & Safety Regulations and conducting Risk Assessments.
- Experience of on job coaching of all branch staff.
- High personal & professional standards.
- Excellent customer service skills with a cooperative attitude.
- Superior driving record.
- Have the necessary experience in the moving industry.
- Have a clean disciplinary record for the previous 12 months.
- High degree of problem solving.
- Willingness to work away from home for periods of time and some weekends as directed.
- Ability to make appropriate business decisions unsupervised in the Company’s and customer’s best interests.
- Be able to brief and debrief move teams and take any necessary action.
- When not otherwise directed, be able and willing to complete the duties and responsibilities of the Move Controller.
- Literate and numerate.
- GCSE Mathematics and English or equivalent standard desirable.
- Valid LGV (category C or C+E).
- Valid Drivers CPC Certificate.
- Compliant with established legal tachograph procedures.
- Completed essential training courses, including Basic Practical, Advanced Packing Skills, and Supervisory/Team Leader Skills (all with assessments passed).
- Attended supplementary training, such as Customer Service, Introduction to Management, and Health & Safety/Risk Assessment (as available).
- Completed FLT (Forklift Truck) training, where applicable.
