As an Underwriting Assistant for Financial Lines, you will provide support to the Underwriting team in the assessment, processing, and administration of financial lines insurance products, including but not limited to Directors & Officers (D&O) Liability, Professional Indemnity, and Cyber Insurance. You will be working in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and strong communication skills are key.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Assist underwriters in the assessment and processing of new and renewal business for financial lines products including D&O liability, E&O liability, Cyber Liability, and EPL.
  • Prepare and review policy documentation, endorsements, and schedules to ensure accuracy.
  • Monitor and track submission statuses, ensuring timely responses and follow-ups with brokers and clients.
  • Maintain up-to-date records in underwriting systems and databases.
  • Provide administrative support with quotes, proposals, and risk assessments.
  • Liaise with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders to gather necessary information.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports and underwriting files for internal and regulatory purposes.
  • Support the team with any ad hoc tasks as needed.
  • Review and analyze underwriting data, market trends, and industry developments to identify emerging risks and opportunities.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to evaluate underwriting data effectively.
  • Previous experience in an underwriting assistant or similar role within insurance is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with brokers, clients, and team members.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and underwriting software.
  • High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • A team player with a proactive, positive attitude an willingness to learn.
