We’re looking for a Lead Reserving Actuary to play a critical role in shaping Relm’s reserving function.
What You Will Do
- Lead the end‑to‑end reserving process, ensuring robust and accurate reserve estimates across our (re)insurance portfolio.
- Develop and continuously enhance reserving methodologies, adapting them to new and emerging risk classes.
- Analyse trends across claims, exposure, and portfolio dynamics to inform assumptions and decision‑making.
- Deliver clear, concise insights on reserve movements to senior leadership on a quarterly basis.
- Partner with underwriting and finance teams to ensure a deep understanding of the business written and its implications for reserving.
- Design and implement advanced analytical frameworks (e.g. stochastic reserving, technical provisions).
- Own regulatory and statutory reserving outputs, ensuring compliance across jurisdictions.
- Act as a key point of contact for external stakeholders, including auditors and actuarial partners.
- Drive continuous improvement in processes, tools, and data utilisation within the reserving function.
- Contribute to broader strategic initiatives and provide ad hoc actuarial insight where needed.
What You Bring To The Table
- Qualified actuary (e.g. FIA, FCAS) with strong P&C reserving experience, ideally within (re)insurance.
- Proven experience operating in a senior role, with the ability to influence decision‑making at executive level.
- Deep technical expertise across reserving techniques and forecasting methodologies.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting, and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience working across multiple jurisdictions and navigating complex regulatory environments.
- A commercial mindset – able to connect actuarial outputs to real business decisions.
