About the Role

You'll undertake residential inspections throughout Essex and the surrounding counties, preparing professional RICS survey reports for a wide variety of residential properties.

Your work will primarily include

  • RICS Level 2 Home Surveys
  • RICS Level 3 Building Surveys
  • Residential defect diagnosis
  • Providing practical, client-focused advice
  • Delivering exceptional customer service throughout the survey process

This is a home-based, hybrid role. You'll carry out inspections during the day before preparing reports from home using our modern reporting systems.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys delivering a high standard of service.

You’ll ideally have

  • Assoc RICS or MRICS qualification
  • Experience producing RICS Level 2 Home Surveys
  • Experience producing RICS Level 3 Building Surveys
  • Excellent technical knowledge of residential construction
  • Strong report-writing skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
  • Ideally be based within approximately one hour of Chelmsford
  • What Success Looks Like

5–7 residential surveys per week , depending on travel distances, property size and complexity.

We don't believe in unrealistic targets or rushing reports.

Instead, we expect our surveyors to produce technically excellent work, communicate professionally with clients and take pride in maintaining the standards expected of a RICS-regulated practice.

  • Additional Requirements
  • Applicants should be available to commence employment in early September 2026 .
  • Experience undertaking
  • RICS residential valuations

(including Help to Buy, Shared Ownership, Probate, Matrimonial or Market Valuations) would be advantageous, although not essential.

  • A willingness to contribute to the continued growth and success of an independent RICS-regulated practice.

Interviews will be held W/C 24th August, with offers made shortly afterwards to enable successful candidates to complete the onboarding process ahead of their start date.
