About Us

Relish School Food ltd are a Fresh Food company specialising in the education market across the UK (Primary, Secondary and Special Needs schools).

We are looking to recruit a talented, flexible and reliable Chef who is confident in their cooking abilities and enjoys working in the education sector. Supporting schools mainly in the Milton Keynes area, covering Bedford, Luton and Northampton.

The role will be supporting our current Teams in the kitchen, cover long-term sickness when needed and in times when they are not needed to cook in kitchen, they will be coaching, training and developing other Chefs.

The successful candidate must be confident in the cooking abilities, have a passion for food, and have the ability to work on their own as well as manage a team of Kitchen Assistants.

Full induction and training of the system will be given by our experienced Area Support Manager and Operations Manager

Role Details

  • £20,070 per annum for 44.6 weeks work a year (£15.00 per hour).
  • You must own a car, mileage will be paid at 45p/mile.
  • 30 hours per week; Term-Time Only!
  • Monday - Friday - No Weekend work!
  • Hours: 08:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m.

You must be a qualified Chef, with experience, excellent craft skills and a passion for producing the very best.

Responsibilities

  • Support current kitchen teams and cover long-term sickness when needed.
  • Coach, train and develop other Chefs when not cooking.
  • Work independently and manage a team of Kitchen Assistants.
  • Ensure high standards of food quality and safety in schools.

Qualifications

  • Cooking experience: 3 years (required).
  • Qualified Chef with strong craft skills.
  • Own car and ability to travel to various schools; mileage paid.
