About the Role
This role supports OPD partnership and Community Inclusion programming, integrating pre‑conditions for inclusion in community‑based programming, advocacy outcomes, and engagement with Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs).
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the OPD Partnership Director to deliver the CBM Global Federation Strategy, focusing on OPDs and preconditions for community inclusion.
- Provide strategic and technical support to OPD partnership activities and support country teams and partners in promoting OPD engagement across program cycles.
- Offer technical assistance in programme design, review proposals, develop new proposals, and support project review processes.
- Organise meetings of OPD Engagement focal points, ensure accessibility, follow up on action plans, and pursue continuous learning in community inclusive development and OPD engagement.
- Support development of preconditions for inclusion guidance, practice tools, staff training materials, learnings, and case studies, and administer them to support pursuit of preconditions across vehicles of change.
- Contribute to the development of OPD engagement and community inclusion articles, news updates, reports, blogs, and social media content following a coordinated communications plan across the Federation.
- Research and regularly update on new trends and initiatives in community inclusion and OPD engagement in countries where we work.
Safeguarding Responsibilities
- Understand incident management framework and first responder role in recording, responding and reporting incidents.
- Apply survivor‑centred approach when receiving complaints or responding to incidents.
- Identify community or regional support services and engage them when needed.
Key Outcomes Expected
- Active and engaged Community Inclusion and OPD engagement Community of Practice.
- Programme design benefiting from inclusion of underrepresented groups in project cycle phases.
- Regularly updated reports on Community Inclusion trends and the OPD movement.
- Accessible, organised and up‑to‑date templates, process guides and other tools.
- Well‑documented meetings and workshops with executed action plans.
- Funding applications and proposals compliant with internal documents and frameworks, submitted on time and including provisions for underrepresented groups.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years Project Officer level experience in a national or international NGO.
- Experience in fundraising, proposal development and results‑based management.
- Proven experience in project cycle management, supporting internal and external relationships and partnerships.
- Experience working with other organisations and donors.
- Awareness of the OPD movement in the global south and of underrepresented groups of persons with disabilities.
- Strong understanding of the disability movement.
- Relevant experience and qualifications in project management and administration.
- Experience managing contracts and budgets of large institutionally funded programmes.
- Professional proficiency in English; French an advantage.
- Experience working in cross‑cultural teams and diverse environments.
- Committed, excited and passionate about disability inclusion and the rights of people with disabilities.
- Open to collaborative work.
