We are currently recruiting a Global Health and Nutrition Advisor to join our Performance, quality and technical excellence team. This is a remote position, open to candidates based in the UK and Relief International countries of operation, within AST time zone +/- 3 hours. The role is a full-time, open-ended position, offering a salary of c. £47k per annum (negotiable DOE).

About the Opportunity: The Global Health & Nutrition Technical Advisor serves as a senior technical authority for Relief International’s health and nutrition programming across multiple country contexts. You will provide expert leadership to ensure the technical quality, relevance, and effectiveness of health and nutrition interventions, particularly in complex humanitarian settings. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will apply advanced technical judgment to non-routine and high-risk programmatic challenges, shaping technical approaches, standards, and tools while advising country and global stakeholders. You will provide technical leadership to ensure programs are evidence-based, contextually appropriate, and compliant with international standards.
Your Responsibilities: This role includes the following responsibilities:
- Serve as Relief International’s senior technical authority for health and nutrition, leading expert judgment and decision‑making on complex, high‑risk programmatic issues.
- Develop, maintain, and oversee global health and nutrition standards, frameworks, and tools, ensuring alignment with international guidance and diverse operational contexts.
- Act as a technical escalation point, diagnosing and resolving complex implementation, quality, compliance, and risk‑related challenges across country programs.
- Ensure program quality and participant safety through data‑driven analysis, technical risk assessments, and quality assurance reviews and support.
- Provide matrix leadership and capacity strengthening to country teams through mentoring, advanced training, and communities of practice.
- Contribute senior technical expertise to program design, business development, and external representation, strengthening donor alignment and organisational learning.
About You: You will bring the following experience and skills:
- Advanced degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Medicine, or related field.
- Significant professional experience providing senior-level technical leadership in health and nutrition programming in humanitarian and/or development contexts.
- Strong knowledge of primary health care, nutrition, and health systems strengthening.
- Experience supporting program implementation and providing technical assistance to field teams.
- Familiarity with MEAL systems and data use for program improvement.
- Experience in capacity building and mentoring of multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to translate evidence into practical program guidance.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to quality, learning, and continuous improvement.
- Must be able and willing to travel to RI countries of operation.
- Working level of French and/or Arabic is desirable.
