We are looking for a reliable and hands-on individual to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our Seals and Gaskets department. The role involves manufacturing a range of products while ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently, and to a high standard. This is a varied position combining machine operation, bench work, quality control, and general department organisation. The successful candidate will play an important part in maintaining production flow, meeting deadlines, and supporting the overall operation of the business.
Main Duties:
- Operate laser cutters, cutting machines, presses, and associated production equipment.
- Manufacture seals, gaskets, and related components from drawings, templates, and customer specifications.
- Carry out bench work including cutting, finishing, assembly, and inspection.
- Organise and prioritise workload to ensure production targets and deadlines are achieved.
- Monitor material usage and maintain awareness of stock levels.
- Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and housekeeping within the department.
- Identify production issues and resolve them in a practical and efficient manner.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures.
- Support the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the department.
Requirements:
- Experience within manufacturing, gasket, sealing, rubber, plastics, or engineering environments is beneficial but not essential.
- Ability to read drawings and work accurately from specifications would be advantageous.
- Good practical ability and problem-solving skills.
- Organised, reliable, and capable of managing workload independently.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop within the role.
- Ability to work well within a team environment while also taking ownership of responsibilities.
Full training will be provided on company machinery, materials, and production processes.
Working Hours:
Monday - Thursday: 7:00am - 4:00pm
Friday: 7:00am - 1:00pm
