Our client in Preston is looking to recruit a Sewing Machinist for an ongoing role out of their manufacturing and distribution site. The role will involve:
- Using various sewing machines, mainly overlock
- Producing garments
- Checking work orders to determine amount of material needed
- Following drawings and designs
- Measuring and cutting of materials
- Housekeeping and machine maintenance
The working times and pay:
- Monday to Friday 08:00-16:30 and 07:30-12:30 on Fridays
- 39 hours per week after breaks
- £12.71 p/h initially
- Permanent role
Skills/Experience Needed:
- Previous sewing machine experience with overlock essential
- Worked in the same industry recently or within the last 3 years
- Ability to read designs, measure materials and cut where needed
