Full‑time site engineer position for the BAM Nuttall/Keir joint‑venture project in Plymouth, expected to last five years. The role is site based Monday to Friday.

Pay and working hours: PAYE basis; 45 hours per week, 07:30am – 17:00pm. £300 - £380 Per Day Depending On Experience/qualifications. Paid holidays: 30 days per year (including bank holidays).

Qualifications:

  • Degree qualification in civil engineering or equivalent is desirable – one or more of: BSc, BA, BEng, Meng, Eng, Tech, MICE, TIStructE, LCIBSE, LCIBSEEng Tech, Completion of Higher Apprenticeship.
  • May be working towards Chartership/Incorporation with IStructE, ICE or other appropriate professional body.
  • Familiar with Leica Survey equipment (GPS, Total Station, Optical & digital levels) for setting out & survey.
  • Experience in reinforced concrete structures using system formwork is essential.
  • Awareness of commercial processes.
  • Familiar with Quality Management System and familiar with writing RAMS.
  • Proven people and project management skills.
  • Team leader with organisational skills.
  • Good standard of IT skills.
  • Flexible to working weekends and out of hours (on a rota basis to suit project requirements).
  • Supervisor HSE test, CSCS – White AQP card.
  • TWS or TWC.
  • First Aid at Work.
  • Developing ITP’s.
  • SSSTS.
  • Experience in Groundworks, Earthworks & Reinforced Concrete.
  • Nuclear experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with setting out works using provided site control and checking benchmarks and equipment calibration.
  • Support preparation of as‑built drawings, quality records, and drawing registers.
  • Carry out quality checks, surveys, and assist with safety, environmental, and quality inspections.
  • Assist with recording and testing of workmanship and materials (e.g. concrete, drainage, piling, brickwork).
  • Provide engineering support and assist with resolving technical queries.
  • Monitor progress against programme, quality, dimensions, and quantities.
  • Maintain daily diaries, trackers, and site records.
  • Assist with procurement of site materials and equipment.
  • Prepare site sketches and ensure clear communication to the workforce.
  • Support implementation of the Kier Safety, Health & Environmental Management System.
