As part of our mRNA vaccine production team, you will play a vital role in manufacturing safe, effective vaccines in a cGMP-regulated environment. This is a highly technical, hands-on position requiring strong scientific thinking, digital proficiency, and the ability to rapidly learn new mRNA technologies. Working collaboratively across functions, you will combine operational excellence with meticulous attention to detail to ensure the reliable delivery of commercial vaccine production while driving innovation and continuous improvement.
Here’s What You'll Do:
- Operate manufacturing equipment within Moderna's mRNA vaccine production unit in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), manufacturing documentation, and health and safety regulations.
- Execute production operations safely, consistently, and compliantly to support the manufacture of commercial vaccine batches.
- Practice safe work habits and adhere to Moderna's safety procedures, guidelines, and site requirements at all times.
- Follow gowning procedures and maintain excellent housekeeping standards within assigned production areas to ensure compliant and safe operations.
- Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance colleagues to ensure manufacturing documentation is completed accurately and efficiently, enabling the timely disposition of commercial batches.
- Participate in incident and deviation investigations, contributing to Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and the implementation of effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Apply operational performance tools and work collaboratively with the production team to achieve operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) aligned with corporate objectives and commercial demand.
- Respond rapidly to routine equipment, process, and digital system issues, troubleshooting effectively to minimize operational impact.
- Perform routine basic equipment maintenance, including lubrication, basic mechanical inspections, filter changes, and other first-line maintenance activities using hand tools.
- Proactively identify, elevate, and report compliance, operational, or health and safety issues to the Team Lead or Supervisor.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records and associated documentation.
- Contribute actively to multiple projects and continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced, highly technological manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrate strong digital proficiency and confidently work with advanced manufacturing technologies, supporting process improvements, innovation initiatives, and the ongoing evolution of Moderna's digital manufacturing capabilities.
- Collaborate effectively within a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment, partnering across Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and other operational teams.
- Demonstrate flexibility to support off-hours work and overtime when required to meet manufacturing schedules and business needs.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications):
- 1+ years of experience in a GMP manufacturing environment.
- A university degree with a specialization in pharmaceutical production technology or equivalent.
- Experience with filtration and chromatography, and cold chain management a plus.
- Experience in audit/inspection preparation, understanding Health authority and regulatory guidelines.
- Ability to collaborate fluidly with peers, leadership and cross-functional support groups required.
- Excellent written, oral communication, and organizational skills required.
- Ability to maintain attention to detail while executing multiple tasks with minimal supervision.

24/7 Fixed shift Pattern:
The 2-2-3 or the Panama schedule is a slow rotation cycle of 28 days where each employee works in a 12 hour shift every day. The schedule usually involves 4 teams who work for 2 days, then get 2 rest days, followed by 3 days of work.
